Palazzo Bianco in Via Garibaldi ( go to route 1) is part of the Museums of Strada Nuova in Genoa and belongs to the System of the Palazzi dei Rolli , declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco ( go to the historical insight ). Of sixteenth-century origin, it was rebuilt in 1711 for the Brignole-Sale family, who in 1884 linked it to the city of Genoa.
Built from 1550, Palazzo Bianco is the oldest but also the most recent of the sumptuous buildings overlooking "Strada Nuova". The Palace was built between 1530 and 1540 for Luca Grimaldi, a member of one of the most important Genoese families, today remain only the two large statues Pierre Franqueville (1585) of Jupiter and Janus which dominate the staircase.
The Palazzo Bianco can be regarded as the oldest and, at the same time, the most recent of the three sumptuous houses of the most distinguished aristocrats in Genoa, erected in via Garibaldi, the Strada Nuova, in the mid-16th century.
