A Brief History of the Orsay Museum Clock. Between 1900 and 1936, the Orsay Museum was a popular Parisian railway station called Gare d’Orsay. Trains would depart towards the southwest of Paris and back. After running for many successful years, at the start of World War II, the station was used as a mailing center for prisoners.

Nov 14, 2023 · Cost of the Louvre vs. Musée d’Orsay. The Musée d’Orsay is (as of 2023) €16 to get in (€13 for concessions). The Louvre is €15-17 depending on if you buy online or at the museum, and might be the only place I’ve seen that charges more for buying online in advance. That does give you quick entry though (under 30 minutes).

To get to this spot, walk into the main entrance of the museum and then take the lifts up to the clock — there will be signs. You should be facing north once you're there, overlooking the Seine.
