Odd how the movies that claim to be "Inspired By A True Story" usually feel the most contrived. I don't know the real life events PEOPLE LIKE US is based on, but if they actually happened in a way that even remotely resembles what transpires onscreen here, I will eat *both* of Werner Herzog's shoes.
