About Perfect Stranger. History. After leaving university in 1973 with a B.Mus., Chris Sansom wanted to explore the idea of composing based on ‘classical’ principles but using the musical vocabulary and sounds of jazz and rock music.
The first thing Chris Sansom wrote for the original Perfect Stranger in 1974, and the key work in the repertoire. It's in four movements, lasts about half an hour and is loosely based on the conventional structure of a symphony.
