Beckett joined up with the Little River Band in 1989 and toured with them for over eight years. In 1991, Beckett released his first solo album, Beckett. Getting back together with Ronn Moss in 1995, they recorded Player's fifth album, Lost in Reality and toured the United States.

Peter was the featured artist, singing his number one hit from his PLAYER days, 'Baby Come Back'. A live version of this tour was released on Blue Mountain Records by LITTLE RIVER BAND called Live Classics.This album was dedicated to Wayne Nelson's daughter Aubree, who at the age of 13 died in a car crash that year.
He began penning hits for such notable artists as Olivia Newton-John, Heart, Little River Band, and many others. He also was credited with writing songs for movie soundtracks as well as singing some of the tracks himself, both lead and backup vocals.

Peter also recorded his solo album ‘Beckett’, joined the Little River Band for eight years and wrote several singles for them and also began composing for film and television in addition to continuing touring, both as a solo artist and with band.
