Peter Kiewit Foundation has honored its namesake’s legacy by awarding hundreds of millions of dollars in grants and scholarships since its founding. Foundation investments continue to be inspired by Mr. Kiewit’s belief in the importance of hard work, individual opportunity and building community.
Students receive an internship with Kiewit, in one of their districts across the United States, offering early exposure to the field of engineering and construction. The Kiewit Scholars scholarship covers the cost of UNL tuition and fees for four consecutive years, excluding summers.

The Kiewit Scholars program provides annual scholarship awards of up to $10,000 for in-state students and up to $16,000 for out-of-state students seeking leadership opportunities in the construction industry.
Jan 28, 2021 · A distinctive feature of the program is the College of Engineering’s Complete Engineer program that develops key leadership skills. The Kiewit Scholars Program will pay for students to take part in activities and programs outside of regular coursework.
Feb 2, 2021 · In the second, third and fourth years, the program will provide funding to Kiewit Scholars for tuition and educational expenses. A distinctive feature of the program is the College of Engineering’s Complete Engineer program that develops key leadership skills.
Sep 15, 2022 · The program is funded and developed in partnership with Peter Kiewit and Sons, one of North America’s largest and most respected construction and engineering organizations, headquartered in Omaha. Students selected for the 2022-23 cohort, listed by hometown, are:
