A bold Victorian manor in the heart of Columbus. The house was commissioned in the 1890s by the circus owner Peter Sells of Sells Brothers Circus, lending to its whimsical design and history.
The three-story, 7,414 sq ft (688.8 m 2) house was designed by Yost & Packard in an eclectic style, using elements from numerous architectural styles. It was built for the family of Peter Sells, one of the owners of the Sells Brothers Circus. The house is located at the northwest corner of Goodale Park, one of the first city parks in Columbus.

On the exterior, the house abounds with Gothic ornamentation, from broad 4-centered arches, to pointed 2-centered arches; from buttressed brickwork on the corners, to a fanciful chimney.
