Peter Strauss was born February 20, 1947, in NYC and grew up in the village of Croton-on-the-Hudson, New York. He attended the Hackley School for Boys in Tarrytown, New York. He was focused on acting from an early age and appeared in productions of "As You Like It" and "Romeo and Juliet".
Trained at Northwestern University, versatile leading man Peter Strauss made his first film appearance in 1969's Hail Hero. Strauss attained stardom in the role of Rudy Jordache (which required him to age nearly thirty years) in the pioneering TV miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man (1976).
