The Peter the Great Statue is a 98-metre-high (322 ft) monument to Peter the Great, located at the western confluence of the Moskva River and the Vodootvodny Canal in central Moscow, Russia. It was designed by the Georgian designer Zurab Tsereteli to commemorate 300 years of the Russian Navy , which Peter the Great established.

Sep 12, 2015 · “The Tear Drop Memorial” was made by Moscow-based sculptor Zurab Tsereteli, who designed the controversial three-hundred-foot-tall statue of “Peter the Great” that dominates the skyline of central Moscow. “Peter the Great” is a monstrosity — it has been called one of the ugliest building in the world.
The Davies boys (the middle name Llewelyn was a tradition begun with their grandfather, not a true double-barreled surname, though the family sometimes treated it as such) were the inspiration for J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan, in which several of the characters were named after them.
