Jan 7, 2022 · Philip Burgin was brought before the Provincial Court in 1686 when he was accused of treason. Testimony was brought forth that he was accused by a neighbor of drinking the health of the Duke of Monmouth and saying that King James II poisoned his brother. His friend seems to have been charged, but Philip was not found guilty.
