Philip Yordan (April 1, 1914 – March 24, 2003) was an American screenwriter, film producer, novelist and playwright. [1] [2] [3] He was a three-time Academy Award nominee, winning Best Story for Broken Lance (1951).

After graduation from high school, he earned a law degree at night school, bought a car, and hired a kid to chauffeur him around the Windy City.
