Phillip Paley (born September 15, 1963) is an American actor known for playing the role of Cha-Ka in the 1974 American television series Land of the Lost. Born in Los Angeles, California, Paley began his acting career at age ten on the cult children's TV series Land of the Lost.
Phillip Paley is an American actor who played Cha-Ka in Land of the Lost (1974-1976) and Charlie Harrison in Beach Balls (1987). He was also the youngest black belt in U.S. history at age nine and inspired a punk band named after his character.

Actor: Land of the Lost. Phillip Paley is an American actor best known for his portrayal of Cha-Ka from the original TV series Land of the Lost (1974-1976). He starred in the Roger Corman comedy Beach Balls (1987). He was the youngest black belt in U.S. history at age nine (1973) and performed on The Tonight Show with his instructor Chuck Norris.

Portraying Cha-Ka— a creature embodying the extinct Paranthropus apes— Paley gained a large following. Much of his mystique and appeal came from the secrets of what he actually looked like out of costume.
