There are a few ways to walk up to Piazzale Michelangelo (and they’re all on the map above): 1. WALK #1 – The paths and steps that lead from Piazza Giuseppe Poggi to Poggi’s Ramps, and up to Piazzale Michelangelo. This is the most direct route. Drive to Piazzale Michelangelo
If you’re driving up to Piazzale Michelangelo (for example, you’re visiting from the Tuscan countryside, or you just picked up your rental carand are on your way out of the city), you can drive directly to Piazzale Michelangelo. There are blue pay and display parking spaces on the edge of the piazzale (parallel to the street, Viale Michelangiolo). If you can’t find a spot, you can try parking on Via delle Porte Sante, below San Miniato al Monte.

Aug 18, 2015 · A collection of sunset photos overlooking the Piazzale Michelangelo in Florence, Italy that inspired Renaissance painters and beyond.
Set above the city of Florence, Piazzale Michelangelo affords excellent views of the city from an elevated position. It will get crowded in the evening near sunset. Note that there are also many, many stairs to climb up if you are walking from the city; it's a nice walk, though!

In the middle of the piazza there is a monument made up of bronze copies of some of Michelangelo’s works: the four allegories from the Medici chapel in San Lorenzo and the famous David, with his gaze directed towards the hills on the other side of the city.
