  4. Piggsville is a small residential enclave, four blocks by six blocks, at the west end of the Menomonee River Valley, south of Miller Brewing and the Wisconsin Avenue viaduct, and north of Interstate 94. Various theories have been proposed about its name, but none have been proven true.

  7. ABOUT. The Valley/ Piggsville. The neighborhood of Piggsville has humble beginnings. Once rural farmland, the area received its name from the profession of a local pig farmer named Freis. Until 1925, Piggsville was a rural Milwaukee outpost with gravel roads, outhouses, and wells. At first, the neighborhood was home to German immigrants.
