Polly Samson (born 29 April 1962) is an English novelist, lyricist and journalist. She is married to musician and Pink Floyd 's guitarist David Gilmour and has written the lyrics to many of Gilmour's songs, including some on Pink Floyd's last two albums.

Polly Samson's second novel, The Kindness, was published to widespread acclaim by Bloomsbury in 2015. She has been on the judging panel for many literary prizes including the Costa Novel of the Year Award and the overall Costa Book of the Year. In 1993 she co-wrote, with David Gilmour, the lyrics to seven tracks on Pink Floyd's The Division Bell.
