There are 267 cities, 123 towns, and 21 villages in the U.S. state of Florida, a total of 411 municipalities. They are distributed across 67 counties , in addition to 66 county governments. [2] Jacksonville has the only consolidated city–county government in the state, [3] so there is no Duval County government.

The most populated cities in Florida are Jacksonville with 950,203, Miami at 443,665, Tampa with 388,768, Orlando at 307,738, and St. Petersburg with 259,343. The populations of incorporated cit-ies, towns, and villages grew by 1,378,573 (14.6%), while the populations of unincorporated areas grew by 1,358,282 (14.5%). Just over half of Florida’s resi-dents currently live in incorporated cities, towns, and villages (50.3%), the same proportion as in 2010.
