In 1992, the band released the album Pray For Rain, and gained some attention with the song "Do You Want To Know Love". In 1993, PFR released their second album, Goldie's Last Day, whose title track was inspired by the passing of Patrick Andrew's pet golden retriever.
P ray F or R ain started out as the Joel Hanson Band in 1989 at Camp Shamineau - a Minnesota Christian youth camp. Brown Bannister would soon sign them to Vireo Records when the band was known as Inside Out. Then Patrick Andrew came up with the name "Pray For Rain" from a poem.
