Battle of Sakarya. Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark ( Greek: Ανδρέας; Danish: Andreas; 2 February [ O.S. 21 January] 1882 – 3 December 1944) was the seventh child and fourth son of King George I and Queen Olga of Greece. In 1914, Andrew (like many European princes) held honorary military posts in both the German and Russian empires, as well as Prussian, Russian, Danish and Italian knighthoods. Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark. A career soldier, Prince Andrew began military training at an early age, and was commissioned as an officer in the Greek army. His command positions were substantive appointments rather than honorary, and he saw service in the Balkan Wars.

Prince Philippos of Greece and Denmark (1921-2021) – married Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, had issue; Prince Andreas’ military service was often interrupted by the political turmoil in Greece. In the early years, he resigned from the army following a coup d’état in 1909. He later returned in 1912 and found in the Balkan Wars.
His marriage with Princess Alice of Battenberg was also quite controversial. Andrew died in 1944 in Monte Carlo, separated from his entire family.
