Ernest Augustus, Crown Prince of Hanover, 3rd Duke of Cumberland and Teviotdale (German: Ernst August; 21 September 1845 – 14 November 1923), was the eldest child and only son of George V of Hanover and his wife, Marie of Saxe-Altenburg.
On 23 April 1799, Ernest Augustus was created Duke of Cumberland and Teviotdale and Earl of Armagh by his father the king. With a seat in the House of Lords, he took an interest in politics. Ernest held radical Tory views, and soon became a leader of the right of the party, he opposed Catholic emancipation and the Reform Act.

Ernest Augustus was deprived of the throne of Hanover upon its annexation by Prussia in 1866 and later the Duchy of Brunswick in 1884.
