    Private Partsreceived mostly positive reviews from critics. In a review for the Chicago Tribune, critic Gene Siskelgave the film three and a half stars out of five. He pointed out the "predictable" scenes of "lesbian jokes and toilet humor", but the "wonderful love story" between Stern and Alison is the most surprising aspect and preferred Stern's character off the air than the one on the radio.
