Prometheus is an open-source systems monitoring and alerting toolkit originally built at SoundCloud. Since its inception in 2012, many companies and organizations have adopted Prometheus, and the project has a very active developer and user community. It is now a standalone open source project and maintained independently of any company.

Peter Weyland (Guy Pearce), the elderly CEO of Weyland Corporation, funds the creation of the scientific vessel Prometheus to follow the map to the distant moon LV-223. To start Prometheus with your newly created configuration file, change to the directory containing the Prometheus binary and run: # Start Prometheus. # By default, Prometheus stores its database in ./data (flag --storage.tsdb.path). ./prometheus --config.file=prometheus.yml.
