Sequential has also released a 10-voice version in the form of the otherwise identical Prophet-10 (more later). It uses the Curtis 3340 VCOs found in the Rev3 Prophet-5 (a much more reliable design compared to the SSMs used in the Rev2).

The Prophet 6 signals the return of the Sequential Circuits brand, originally founded by Dave Smith himself in the early 1970's, pioneering the development of modern music technology as it is today. Sequential's first synthesizer was in fact the Prophet 5, but in 1987, the brand was unfortunately sold to Yamaha.
The P5's Poly-Mod section has also been passed onto the P600. The P600 is extremely versatile and easy to use! Its best functions include the onboard arpeggiator, 2-track sequencer and poly-modulation. The P600 is great for creating analog effects, swells and drones.
