HISTORY. Pulse Percussion was founded in the fall of 2004 under the umbrella of Impulse Youth Arts Association by Caleb Rothe, Ike Jackson and Ken McGrath. Pulse Percussion, Inc. was created in 2010 to create a truly independent world class ensemble. Pulse Percussion is a six-time World Champion and perennial medalist.
This is Zach’s 2nd year on staff with Pulse. He began his marching career with Chino Hills HS from 2014-2017. He also marched the Blue Stars 2017, Pulse Percussion 2018-2022, and Bluecoats 2018-2021. Zach is running the Townsend Jr. HS drumline program as well the as battery manager at Chino Hills HS and Gahr HS.
Pulse Percussion came out of Impulse which is an open class drum corps that started in 2005 underneath Caleb Rothe, Ken McGrath and a few others. It was actually a really strong start.
