  2. Robert John Swanson. Bob was one of the most popular midget drivers on the west coast. Bob had won the AAA Pacific Coast Championship in 1939 and the NMA Championship in 1935. Bob twice won the Turkey Night Grand Prix at Gilmore Stadium in Los Angeles (1934 & 1938) and, in 1939, won the Gold Cup race at the same track.

  7. Bob Swanson (born 20 Aug 1912 Minneapolis, Minnesota; died 12 Jun 1940 Perrysville, Ohio). Killed in qualifying for a midget race. AAA Pacific Champion in 1939, he was one of the USA's best drivers at his death. Very good in big cars, roadsters and midgets.
