The sample used in “Raise it Up” is taken from Tom Bangalter’s “Extra Dry”, a track by Daft Punk. Interestingly, J Dilla used this sample without permission. When Daft Punk discovered this, instead of demanding payment, they showed tremendous love and asked Slum Village to remix one of their songs.
