Regis High School (New York City) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Regis High School is a private Jesuit secondary school for Roman Catholic boys located on Manhattan's Upper East Side. In 2017, Regis was ranked as the top Catholic High School in the US by Town and County Magazine.

In 1957, Regis left his job as assistant news editor to Baxter Ward at KCOP, Los Angeles, to make his fortune in New York City. His replacement at KCOP was George Van Valkenburg.  His first talk show was The Regis Philbin Show in 1961 on KOGO-TV (now KGTV) in San Diego.

After various building material strikes delayed completion, the six-story Renaissance Revival style steel-framed school opened on December 17, 1900, and was formally dedicated by Michael A. Corrigan, Archbishop of New York, on February 11, 1901.
