On August 18, 1997, Father Stephen L. Shields reported for duty as Administrator of the parish. On July 1, 1998, Fr. Shields was appointed the pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish. Fr. Shields expanded Eucharistic Adoration opportunities, introduced Bible Study groups, and a Youth Group was formed.
