Dec 17, 1999 · From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Rex Elvie Allen (December 31, 1920 – December 17, 1999) was an American film actor, singer and songwriter who is particularly known as the narrator in many Disney nature and Western film productions.
He made his film debut in 1949 The Arizona Cowboy with other films including Under Mexicali Stars (1950 )The Old Overland Trail (1952), Down Laredo Way and The Phantom Stallion (both 1953). He was the top box office star in 1953 -54 and the no 3 all time money maker in that genre behind Roy Rogers and Gene Autry.
Apr 5, 2018 · As cowboy movies began to fade, Rex made his last movie, The Phantom Stallion in 1954. He continued making hit records and touring the rodeo circuit. He starred in a TV show, Frontier Doctor and Dell had a series of Rex Allen comic books.
