Rex Edwin Lee (February 27, 1935 – March 11, 1996) was an American lawyer and academic who served as the 37th solicitor general of the United States from 1981 to 1985. He was responsible for bringing the solicitor general's office to the center of U.S. legal policymaking.
Rex E. Lee was the 10th president of Brigham Young University from 1989 to 1995, after serving as solicitor general of the United States and a partner in a law firm. He led the university through a period of growth, change, and innovation, and passed away on March 11, 1996.
