    Rhythmic gymnastics at the Tokyo Games will comprise two medal events: individual all-around and group all-around.

    Qualification Round

    26 participants compete on four apparatus (hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon)

    Final

    The top 10 athletes from the qualification round ranked by total number of points on the four apparatus advance to the final; scores do not carry over. Each athlete competes again on the four apparatus (hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon).

    Timing

    1. Routines last between 1 minute and 15 seconds and 1 minute and 30 seconds 2. If a gymnast goes over this time limit, points are deducted from her total score

    There are a total of 15 judges who rate the following criteria: The final score is the sum of the execution score and difficulty score (with the inclusion of penalties).
