Richard Van Perry is an American record producer. He began as a performer in his adolescence while attending Poly Prep, his high school in Brooklyn. After graduating from college he rose through the late 1960s and early 1970s to become a successful and popular record producer with more than 12 gold records to his credit by 1982.
Cloud Nine: Memoirs of a Record Producer is the title of Perry's book, published in February 2021. The book covers his 50-year career of working with artists like Ringo Starr, Barbra Streisand, Carly Simon and Rod Stewart.
