May 14, 2018 · Born on March 27, 1932 in New Fribourg, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, he started his film career in the early 1950s as an assistant director for Watson Macedo, who was making films for the Atlântida studios. Farias made his first film in 1957, the musical comedy Rico ri à toa, followed by No mundo da lua (1958), and Um candango na Belacap (1960).
