All public visitors are required to pass through electronic security equipment located on the first floor. ADA access is available at the east and west entrances to the building.

The two classically styled sculptures by Raymond Kaskey, The Power and Wisdom of the Law, stand outside the main entrance, where they announce the building's function to arrivals and passersby and make the vital concepts of law and justice visible to the community. On the cured "piano wall" in the pavilion, We the People: Summer Festivals of Orange County, the epic mural painted by John Valadez, brings the people of Orange County – their cultures, history and traditions – inside the courthouse in a visually dramatic way.
