Ronny Cox (born 23 July 1938; age 86) is the actor, singer, and songwriter who played Edward Jellico in the Star Trek: The Next Generation sixth season episodes " Chain Of Command, Part I " and " Chain Of Command, Part II " and voiced the character in Star Trek: Prodigy.
He took control of the USS Enterprise for two episodes as Captain Edward Jellico in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987), and contributed entertaining performances in Murder at 1600 (1997), Early Edition (1996), Forces of Nature (1999), and the chilling tale Perfect Murder, Perfect Town: JonBenét and the City of Boulder (2000).

Cox had a guest role on Star Trek: The Next Generation as Captain Edward Jellico in the two-part episode "Chain of Command". He also played Henry Mason, the father of Bree Van de Kamp (Marcia Cross) on Desperate Housewives. In 1997, Cox portrayed the fictional President of the United States Jack Neil in the movie Murder at 1600.
