Rosario is a city in the center-east of Argentina, about 300 km (190 mi) northwest from Buenos Aires. It is the main city of Santa Fe Province. As of 2008 Rosario metropolitan area has a population of around 1,300,000 inhabitants, making it Argentina's third-largest city (after Buenos Aires and Córdoba ). The city is on the Paraná River .
