Apr 17, 2024 · Nicholas Hytner (born May 7, 1956, Didsbury, Lancashire, England) is an English director of theatre and film who served as artistic director of the Royal National Theatre (RNT) from 2003 to 2015. Hytner was credited with reinvigorating London ’s theatre scene and attracting new audiences to the RNT complex on the South Bank of the River Thames.
