1835- Composer of vocal music; born at Schaidldorf-on-the-Thaja, in Lower Austria. After receiving his musical education as a chorister at the Imperial Chapel in Vienna he studied law at the University in 1858, and while there founded the Akademische Gesangverein, which he conducted until 1866.

Rudolf Weinwurm. *3.4.1835 bis †26.5.1911. Biographie. Der in Scheideldorf im Waldviertel südlich von Waidhofen an der Thaya als Sohn eines Schullehrers geborene Komponist hatte als Wiener Chorleiter und Universitäts-Musikdirektor bedeutenden Einfluss auf das Wiener Musikleben des 19. Jahrhunderts.
Bruckner's F-minor symphony of 1863 was initially designated Symphony No. 1, and, in a letter to his friend Rudolf Weinwurm dated 29 January 1865, Bruckner described the C-minor symphony he was working on at the time as his Symphony No. 2.
