Oct 13, 2020 · Like most Zahler's stories, we're not dealing with gleaming heroes, but normal people caught up in dire situations caused by their own rash choices. Zahler takes his time supplying the pieces (but it's never for a second boring) and even near 100 pages after what could be considered the climax, I still had no idea where the gutter would wind up.
