Bone Tomahawk (2015) is one of those movies that keeps coming up in the conversation about good recent westerns and even if there wasn't that one notorious scene it still holds up as a decent slow burn. Great acting by Kurt Russell and Richard Jenkins too. Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017) is IMHO one of the best prison movies I've ever seen.
I think it's interesting that I see Zahler being accused of racism. I think he's more misogynist than anything else. S. Craig Zahler is 3 for 3 with his films and I think they are spectacular examples of what a movie should be, and all are refreshing breaths of air in a sea of mediocrity. Even more impressive is he wrote AND directed all of them!
