Description. Sacajawea Peak is the highest peak in the Wallowa Mountains, really the northern high point on a marble ridge that includes the unnamed Peak 9775 and the Matterhorn, only 12 feet lower. The approach is via the abandoned Thorp Creek Trail which, however, is used often enough to be obvious for most of the route.
