In 1962 I moved to Los Angeles and partnered with Billy Idelson, we wrote for THE FLINTSTONES, THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW, GET SMART and BEWITCHED, all very popular TV shows. Oct 14, 2019 · Sam Bobrick, the creator of the beloved ’90s sitcom Saved by the Bell, has died. The accomplished TV writer and playwright passed away on Friday, October 11th at Northridge Hospital medical Center in Los Angeles after suffering a stroke (via The Hollywood Reporter). He was 87 years old.
Sam also doctored the book for the original Broadway production of THE WIZ. In 2011, he won the coveted Edgar Allen Poe Mystery Writers of American EDGAR award for his mystery comedy, THE PSYCHIC. This year a number of his plays have been performed in Russia, Turkey, Germany, Czech Republic and Scandinavia.
