June 10, 2023• Hiking. Very interesting group of trails that go between a variety of man-made ponds that are full of foliage as well as migratory birds. Parking is free at the visitor center and there is a variety of historical artifacts, as well as informative plaques and displays for the native plants and shrubbery.

Feb 14, 2011 · The San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary is open from dawn until dusk every day. The House is open daily from 8:00am – 4:00pm. Parking and admission is FREE. Here is the link to a PDF map of the Sanc tuary. We stayed for 3 hours and didn’t see the whole place. You can plan for short or long visits.
If you want to sit down, there are plenty of benches along the trail. Parking was free (turn onto Riparian View to enter into the Wildlife Sanctuary). You can walk on several dirt trails. In so doing, you will pass by ponds of fresh water, plant habitats, lots of vegetation, and other wildlife habitats (especially bird habitats).
