Solitude Palace (German: Schloss Solitude) is a Rococo schloss and hunting retreat commissioned by Charles Eugene, Duke of Württemberg. It was designed by Johann Friedrich Weyhing [ de] and Philippe de La Guêpière, and constructed from 1764 to 1769.

Akademie Schloss Solitude is an international and transdisciplinary artists’ residence. Its unique model affords artists and scientists valuable freedom to develop their work and perform research in both a physical and digital context.
Schloss Solitude was built as a hunting lodge between 1764 and 1769 under Duke Karl Eugen of Württemberg. Schloss Solitude was originally designed to act as a refugium, a place of quiet, reflection and solitude (thus the name). Construction of the castle was plagued by political and financial difficulties.

5 reviews of Schloss Solitude Gastronomie "I recently travelled to Stuttgart to visit my 86 year old mother. We decided to go to one of the most beautiful landmarks around, Solitude Castle. As it was around lunch time we decided to sample the 'Gastronomie'. The place was pretty empty except for a small group in the garden.
