It’s an ancient Japanese tradition where (mostly female) divers bring oysters from the ocean floor that contain cultured pearls. At least that’s what they told us at SeaWorld in northeast Ohio.     Former SeaWorld employee Nico Maragos had the opportunity to go inside the old SeaWorld to take photos of the park about five years ago. The results definitely inspired huge waves of childhood nostalgia and an uncontrollable longing for warmer weather and simpler times.

    For several years after those photos were taken, the park continued to slowly fade away into nature. In February of 2021, an urban explorer on Youtube was able to document the parks condition before demolition began.

    In 2020, a Solon, OH-based real estate developer, Industrial Commercial Properties, bought a massive chunk of the property with the intention to transform it into a 377 mixed-use development called the Geauga Lake District.   3. Sep 10, 2014 · That was all well and good, as SeaWorld Orlando opened Kraken (2000) and SeaWorld San Antonio upped its arsenal with Great White (1997) and Steel Eel (1999). It was a very intentional choice to shift the parks into competition with roller coaster parks, and it has served SeaWorld well even unto today. But rides were not coming to SeaWorld Ohio.
