Sidney Alderman Blackmer (July 13, 1895 – October 6, 1973) was an American actor who appeared in dozens of movies between 1914 and 1971, usually in major supporting roles. He was also a major Broadway performer.
During the presidential campaign in the USA, the candidate William Lyons Selby (Sidney Blackmer) wills the probable winner. The Asian dictator Li-Chin Sung (Richard Loo) develops a technique to shape the face and the fingerprints of any man and murders and replaces Selby by one skilled spy.
Blackmer also guest starred twice in the western TV series Bonanza in the episodes "The Dream Riders" (1961) and "The Late Ben Cartwright" (1968). Among his most notable roles was the character of presidential candidate William Lyons Selby in the Outer Limits episode " The Hundred Days of the Dragon ".
