Richard ponders a deal with the tech world's latest "it" boy; Jack faces setbacks.
It's suddenly cold in California, and Pied Piper's data storage costs for Microsoft Azure go through the roof. Dan Melcher (Jake Broder) now looks like a genius for signing Pied Piper to store FGI's data for a flat rate. Also, it's very cold in Erlich's house, and Erlich refuses to turn on the heat, forcing Dinesh, Gilfoyle, Jared and Richard to wear sweaters or coats.
Richard decides that Pied Piper needs a new customer to offset the costs they're incurring with FGI. Erlich agrees to set up a meeting with virtual reality tycoon Keenan Feldspar (Haley Joel Osment), to sign him up as a Pied Piper customer.
Richard tries the next iteration of Keenan Feldspar's virtual reality program, warily, because the previous one made him vomit profusely. But Richard actually enjoys this new version. Dinesh and Gilfoyle somehow improved it by plugging in Pied Piper's proprietary middle-out compression algorithm, and they did this without consulting Richard.
Keenan Feldspar offers to buy Pied Piper as a deal with Bream Hall. Despite the advice of Dinesh and Gilfoyle, Richard wants to reject the deal outright, but also he doesn't want to look like he rejected it. So Richard makes a counter-offer of $25 million, which predictably makes Keenan Feldspar sad.
But then Keenan Feldspar talks to Ed Chen at Raviga and gets the $25 million Richard asked for. Erlich quits his job at Bream Hall. Monica Hall at Bream Hall warns Richard about Keenan Feldspar. After much agonizing, Richard decides to reject the deal, and sends an e-mail with the subject line "NO DEAL".
Meanwhile, at Hooli, Jack Barker (Stephen Tobolowsky) is upset that Box Two won't be ready in time for Hooli-Con, which is happening in less than a week. Desperate to have something to show at Hooli-Con, Jack Barker makes a deal with Keenan Feldspar.
