The markings on the underside of the barrels are 20/70 and 255. The serial number is 17XXXX. Any help with when this gun was made and estimated value would be helpful.

This is a pre war Simson O/U and appears to be a lower grade boxlock gun. The writing your refer to is "Krupp Flussstahl" and refers to the steel used for the barrels.

Simson made a large variety of rifles and shotguns, including some private labels, and most of it's guns were not imported into the U.S. on a regular basis. Unless you have a specific model number of your shotgun, pricing if very "iffy".

Identifying a second hand East German Simson Suhl shotgun. I'm trying to decipher all the markings on a newly purchased old East German side by side shotgun. I've got most figured out (I think), but some are still unknown to me. I'd especially would like to known what the fixed chokes in the barrels are.
