Meanwhile, the Providence is hijacked by a feral tribe known as the "Water Thieves", who capture the crew and send them to their island, once home to a flourishing civilisation, now a ruined city, They are brought before their queen Razia (Okonedo), who takes Sinbad as her lover. He learns from her son that he will die, just like her past lovers.
