Sitting Bull College began as Standing Rock Community College (SRCC) on September 21, 1973. On that date, the Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Council granted a charter to SRCC to operate as a post-secondary educational institution with the authority to grant degrees at the Associate level.

Sitting Bull College (SBC) offers academic and career and technical education training. The College has implemented a standard core curriculum incorporating the essential basics for each specified degree offering.
Open Admissions. Sitting Bull College maintains an “open” door admissions policy. Any person who is a graduate of an accredited high school or has their GED certificate may be admitted to SBC.
