This is a serious movie about drinking but not a depressing one. You notice that in the way it handles Charlie ( Aaron Paul ), Kate's husband. He is also her drinking buddy.

Our review: Parents say: ( 1 ): Kids say: Not yet rated Rate movie. Winstead, who has been cast as a token cute girl in many mainstream movies, clearly jumped at the chance to show off her acting chops in this well-made independent movie. She soars during her scenes of intoxication and suffers during her scenes of sobriety.

Over the years, I've developed somewhat of an obsession with films on this subject, always looking for my own story. 'Smashed' is that film.
